Unique Talent

This page is to define Lifebushido's concept of Unique Talent and to help people discover and define their unique talent.

    • Define unique talent.
    • Encourages you to ask friends/family/co-workers for feedback on your unique talent.
    • Write down your first definition and thoughts on your unique talent.

Lifebushido seeks to help people spend more time using their unique talents and abilities.

  • The more time you spend on your unique ability, the more you will achieve.
  • Your unique talent is something you are passionate about doing. You want to do it as much as possible.
  • Your unique ability is energizing for you and those around you.
  • You keep getting better at it.
  • Other people notice and value your unique talents.
  • Your unique ability comes naturally and is easy, fun, energizing, and motivating.
  • If you focus your energy on what you love to do and what you do best anything is possible.

  • The more time you spend on your unique talent, the more you will achieve.

My unique ability is learning and thinking to inspire others with creative ideas to share knowledge and make people happier.

Unique Abilities:

  • Talent + Passion Creativity: I combine intersections of ideas for a big vision.
  • Reading: I organize and summarize ideas from books, magazines, and people. Inspire: I strive to encourage and motivate people.
  • Bushido: I think out of the box and boldly try something new.
  • Passion: I enjoy passionate people with goal focus and desire to contribute.
  • Energize: I am energized by focus, an audience, a big vision, and time for strategy.

Unique Ability Activity

  • Inventory Read quickly and broadly to learn new ideas.
  • Write and organize summaries of ideas for life and business.
  • Create new ideas to solve problems or expand visions of possibilities.
  • Ask people questions to derive key lessons to share with others.
  • Inspire people through email and meetings to try new things and take risks.

Unique Ability Growth Strategies

  • Give yourself permission to spend time using your Unique Ability.
  • Talk to as many people as possible about it. Get the word out.
  • Seek new opportunities and audiences.
  • Ask others for support, suggestions, and ideas.
  • Look for the resources you need to grow your Unique Ability.
  • Put structures in your life that supports the development of your Unique Ability.
  • Make time for thinking, learning, and personal awareness.

Activity Inventory

  • Make a list of the things you do in the course of your routine in life.
  • Categorize each of them as Unique, Excellent, Competent, or Incompetent.
  • Unique creates more energy that they use up.
  • Excellent activities do not have a real passion for activity which is different from Unique.
  • Competent activities you may feel competition and worry about falling behind, failing or becoming obsolete.
  • Incompetent activities make you feel frustrated, stressed, failing, conflicted.
  • Categorize your activities and reorganize by activity.
  • How can you do less of your incompetent or competent activities?

Create an improvement plan.

  • Delegation: stop doing it, find someone else to do it, trade with someone, use technology, hire someone, give up guilt.
  • As you sculpt your life and remove each layer of non-unique ability activity, you will have powerful motivation to find ways to focus even more on what you love.

Fundamental Relationship

  • You create value for others with your Unique Ability through distribution channels and receive rewards.
  • There are probably many more distribution channels which you can create.
  • The more you use your Unique Ability the more the world supports and funds its ongoing development.
  • How do I use my Unique Ability to create value? Who does it create value for now? How can I reach more people? What distribution channels have I developed? What rewards do I currently receive?

Action Step Discover Your Unique Talent

  • Create a document with answers to the following. It will probably be 1-3 pages.
  • Write down draft of the your Unique Talent based on talents and passion What are the things you like to do best?
  • What are your 5-10 best habits?
  • Choose 3-10 friends/family/co-workers and have the entrepreneurial spirit to send them an email to ask for their input. Incorporate their input in your summary.
  • Question for friends to email - feel free to point them to this wiki page to share background info.
    • What do you see as my Unique Talent? I am currently trying to figure this out for myself. This concept is based on the idea that everyone possesses a combination of talents, interests, and capabilities unique to that individual. I would really appreciate it if you would help me identify my own unique talent by considering the following question and sending me back an answer.
